How crash games work

Crash games strip a casino product down to one decision: when to get out. A multiplier climbs from 1.00x and can stop at any moment. Cash out before it stops and you keep the multiplier; leave it too late and the stake is gone.

The mechanic

Why the crash point is not random in the way people assume

The crash point for each round is generated before the round begins, not while the multiplier is climbing. Many crash games publish a provably fair mechanism — a server seed committed in advance and revealed afterwards — so a player can verify the round was not altered mid-flight.

Provable fairness means the operator did not change the outcome. It does not mean the game is even money. A house edge is built into the distribution of crash points, exactly as it is in any casino product.

The honest risk note

Crash games are fast, and speed is the risk. Round times are measured in seconds, so it is possible to place far more bets per hour than in almost any other product. Losses compound at the same rate.

No cash-out strategy changes the house edge. Auto cash-out at a low multiplier wins often and small; a high target wins rarely and large. Both settle to the same edge over time.
